Deer & Elk

The Biological Time of the deer and elk, as
it relates to breeding and birthing, are presented as an
introduction to the hypothesis. The
book additionally demonstrates that other important events for these animals,
such as migration, antler shedding and feeding, are also precisely timed
to both the solar and lunar cycles of light and darkness. All biological
suggestions are supported with either hard data collected from governmental
agencies and university researchers or previously published studies from the
primary literature.
Biological Time also provides evidence that Ice-age man understood this phenomena as far back as 17,000 years ago and left the methodology on the walls of the Lascaux caves in France. See the caves at Lascaux for more information on this subject. The lunar calendar of the Thompson Indians in British Columbia is reset each year at the rut of the deer. The third lunar month in their calendar is when the bucks shed their antlers and the eighth marks when the deer drop their young. The practice is still in use by tribes by many other tribes in the Pacific Northwest.
